Fabien Ouellette, Biography

Fabien was brought up on a French family owned potato farm where he learned at an early age what hard work was all about. He attended French schools up to the 12th grade. He preceded his college education in a Mechanical Engineering Technology program at the Moncton Community College where he graduated in 1987 as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist and has been a certified Electro-Mechanical Technologist since 1992.

He pursued his career designing reflectors, luminaires, lighting systems, technical support and sales professional for the commercial greenhouse industry where he provided the lighting design that illuminates the Pontiac Silver Dome for the indoor growth of real green grass. He also collaborated with NASA and Warner Brothers for the design of lighting systems on specialty projects.

His career continues to flourish as he now provides technical lighting support, assessments and designs to the Architectural Industry with projects including Casino’s, Five star Hotels, Parks, Bridges, Roadways, parking lots (indoor &outdoor) including sky-rise offices and board rooms as well as custom homes and retirement establishments. His creative lighting design, in collaboration with another designer, of the Peace Bridge LED lighting design won the 2010 Illuminating Engineering Society of North America Toronto section award as well as qualified for an international award of merit.

Fabien is a dedicated lighting specialist, immersed in the latest lighting technologies, equipped with all the latest software and tools providing clients with sensible lighting system designs that best suits their needs to meet and exceed IES and stringent Energy codes as well as supports sustained lighting installations promoting energy conservation and reducing capital costs.
